HBF Policy Conference 2013
HBF Policy Conference - Tuesday 12 March 2013
Housing Minister to address industry
The annual HBF Policy Conference will focus on the key issues facing the housebuilding industry in 2013.
The government is striving to increase the number of new homes built each year and important initiatives are underway to improve the supply of land, to update the planning system, to increase the mortgage supply to the market and to cut the red tape and bureaucracy affecting the industry.
This year’s conference will focus on all these issues, looking at the detail of the proposed plans, incentives and initiatives and their implications for the industry.
Housing minister Mark Prisk has been invited to provide a government view, while Robert Napier, chairman of the Homes and Communities Agency, will give his views on how the HCA can help enable new home delivery and the role the industry must play.
CBI director general John Cridland will also speak at the conference, underlining how the housebuilding sector remains vital for the success of the economy as a whole. And investment banker Mark Aedy will look at the corporate structure of the industry and opportunities ahead.
HBF director of economic affairs John Stewart will give his ever popular view on the market, and there will be important updates on key influences on the industry such as the planning system changes, the Community Infrastructure Levy, localism and the housing standards review.
